Ok, so I'm busy trying to swap the two sub-frames around. This will replace the current drum brakes with a disk based system. Better brakes and so forth. Hmmm, the CV bits look a bit different. Current Shaft should fit the new outer CV's

New shiney wheel nuts. Just under R10 each at Fastner Warehouse in Taurus street, Brakecfell. They only fit on the drum brake studs. The new disk brake has bigger studs.

So the wheelnuts that does not fit made me wonder ... does the wheels actualt fit on the new hubs? Mounts caliper back on and test fits. PCD is spot on, caliper does not clear rim. Demmit!

Getting some new rubber for the 10" wheels R2100 for 4 wheels! bargain 145/80R10 Only found out afterwards, you can actually fit 165/80R10 on it ... welll, next time maybe. You'll find that the 165/70R10 tyres are a little more expensive though. That said they do look good on our little cars. Also congrats on getting a build thread started, it's nice to see a forum revival

So that's the story up to now. Looks like there is no proper way to put the 10" wheels on the 8.4" disk brake setup. So will have to put the drums back for now. That hub does need new joints and bearings tho. Still think I'll mount everything to the new subframe. Upper rubber thingies just seem to be in a better condition on it. All this work so far is just to get it ready for the road worthy ... I'll start a propper rebuild once that has cleared. Which reminds me ... I'll have to post some rust pix and the botched fixed they did ... It's also on it's 5 or 7 layer of paint. Previous color include blue, pink, black and white.

Wow looks like you have come a long way and we are now in 2016. What about some new pics and an update? I am new to this page as i am a former Gauteng resident but would love to hear more about your build. I have just negotiated a purchase up in Springs and am looking to ship the Mini down by train and start soon.
